Capacity is not the whole model
A coin cell’s useful capacity depends on drain rate, cutoff voltage, temperature and pulse size.
Internal resistance matters
Short high-current pulses create a temporary voltage drop. The device may reset even while energy remains in the cell.
Compare application data
Use the manufacturer’s discharge curves and the device’s minimum voltage rather than ranking cells by milliamp-hours alone.
Decision boundary
This guide narrows a battery decision but does not override the device manufacturer’s current manual or safety instructions.
